“What????”, he exclaimed.
“Now! No time for questions, prepare properly what to speak ,while going. Don’t amble as you do everytime. Be stiff and try to impress her atleast this day”, I advised him as he looked very nervous.
Aakash got up and went towards the vacant class In which Keerthi literally screwed me few minutes earlier.
Meanwhile, I decided to have a walk around the school Building. Everyone looked busy feeling sad for missing their friends or probably missing their female classmates , in the case of male candidates.
Some were crying, audible enough to all the floors, where as the rest appeared as if they waited for this melodrama to end.Teachers who hated some students, to their maximum possible capacity were weeping, as they were missing some dumbo students who would never puke on their face , how much ever Teachers curse them.
I reached the Canteen , which had fed me with plenty of samosas, chips and various other stuff, from past twelve years.
“Kishan Bhayya! Ek Samosa aur ek Diary milk”, I asked him.
I had been seeing Kishan from my childhood. If asked, I wouldn’t hesitate mentioning him as my family member as I and Aakash had many incidents which included him. He left many memories to us. Whenever any faculty scolded us or yelled at us, we used to share with him during the lunch break. He used to listen to us patiently and join in our curses to the faculty. That gave us enough delight to forget any sorrow we were left with.
It was many a time , when neither of us(I and Aakash) got our lunch. Kishan used to treat us with food for free.Sometimes, it becomes too complex to wipe off those memories. Its tough to be a human.
I rolled back to the present. He gave me a Diary milk and an extra samosa than asked.
“Here, Bhayya this is for you”, I gave him the Diary milk chocolate I bought from him few seconds ago.
I took out a small Calculator from my pocket and gifted him.
“What is this beta?”, he asked me getting surprised.
“I have told you many times that you are poor at math calculations, Bhayya. You easily loose 100-150 bucks in your calculation errors daily. Use this one to avoid those”.
He took it with a mixed expression. “Don’t forget me beta!”, he uttered with his eyes red, tears ready to jump.
“Never! Bhayya”, I said and moved from there. I reached the main Campus area.
The main event that day ,which requires a definite elucidation belongs to our School’s best rated girl for her ‘closeness’ to every Boy possible . She was Ankitha.
She looked beautiful from far and gorgeous from close. I still couldn’t understand why she chose a path which degraded her to a level at which all other girls avoided her completely.
“Srikanth! This is for you! I miss you soooo much!! Macha”, She howled like an Indian slum Pig.
I could literally smell the wrong intentions(on her) of the ten to twelve boys who surrounded her giving her a celebrity status.
Unable to witness the advantage they were taking of her by their carress, I accelarated my gait and got out of there.
After few seconds, someone beckoned me. I turned back.
“Gandhi! I need your autograph”, said Ankitha running forward to reach me.
“I guess you have mistook me for someone else, Ankitha”, I tallied .
“No! its you whom I wanted to take an autograph from”, She replied much politely.
I took the slambook and searched for an unfilled page .
“Don’t search Gandhi! It’s the first page in which you are supposed to write”, Ankitha affirmed.
I turned to the first page. It had a print which read:
“A person who inspired you truly”
I calmly filled the asked details and returned it back to her.
She gazed at me for few seconds.
“Gandhi! How can you be so polite to all, even though you hate them to the core, from inside?”
That question shook me for a second.
Before I could reply her, she took the initiative.
“I know that you hate me, the most! But atleast being hated by a person like you stands as an honor to me”, she broke into tears.
I tried to apprehend the inner meaning of her’s. I didn’t even entertain her acts anytime. I was left with a question marked face while she got down the steps and disappeared into the dark shadow casted by the giant library door.
I stood there for few moments with my mind preoccupied by some irrelavant thoughts. Suddenly, my biological clock alarmed me of Aakash.
What happened to his conversation with Keerthi??..Did she accept him or asked him to get away from her??
I stumbled out of eager to reach the CBSE block. Aakash was waiting for me, with a dumbest expression ever possible.
“Where’s Keerthi , Sky??”, I asked him searching for a glimpse of her in my visual reach.
“She left, few minutes before you came”, he said with a disconsolate expression.
“Oh! Sorry Aakash,I should have interpreted the consequences before itself…I knew she would curse on your face..but..”,
“You are wrong!” , he exclaimed.
I made a serious eye contact with him. He looked into my eyes. Yes! My expectation was wrong . Something else happened.
“What?”
“She didn’t reject me”, He said.
